Artist's profile

Catherine is a glass artist specialising in warm glass work. In 2012 she returned to college to study glass art design and production. During that time, she won 2 prizes: one from the Incorporation of Wrights in 2013 for her stained glass panel of the People’s Palace in Glasgow and the second from the Scottish Glass Society in 2014, for the best final year student's work.

Catherine makes fused glass jewellery, coasters, platters, bowls, self standing panels and LED light panels and each piece is handmade, kiln fired two or three times to obtain the delicate reactions that help depict the sea and the water’s edge and cold worked.  She is best known for her Hebridean Collection which is inspired from the time she lived in the Outer Hebrides when life was ruled by the dual forces of weather and sea. She has sought to encapsulate the many moods of the sea and beach in fused glass.

She has work for sale in the Scottish Design Exchange galleries in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Seagull Gallery in Gourock, and a number of other small galleries on the west coast of Scotland. She also has work for sale on her website.

Catherine also makes event awards, undertakes commissions and runs small fused glass workshops.

She has been a committee member of the Scottish Glass Society since 2015 and Chair since 2018.

Please feel free to contact Catherine directly if you would like to discuss any aspects of her work, commissions or workshops.
